Judy Bryan - Member of the Month

KCI: What healthy habits have you been focusing on lately? 

JB: I consistently schedule time at KCI Crossfit as part of my regular routine even when I don't want to work out.

KCI: What’s a recent accomplishment you’re proud of?

JB: Everything!  It's hard to choose just one.   Running 200m without stopping is my most recent accomplishment. 

KCI: What would you say to someone just starting their journey? 

JB: You have to start somewhere.  Nothing happens overnight.  You only get out of it what you put into it.  Everyone at KCI is very encouraging and supportive.

Gratitude & Grit Award - Jeff Fields

KCI: What does being “bought in” mean to you ?

JF: To me, it means being fully committed to my fitness journey while also being supportive to the community’s fitness journey. It’s being emotionally and mentally invested every day.

 

KCI: How have you leaned into gratitude or grit in your fitness journey?

JF: I have leaned into gratitude in my fitness journey because it has given me a motivational boost that I may need sometimes. Celebrating small wins keeps me energized. Gratitude has given me a deeper sense of body appreciation, instead of criticizing what my body isn’t, I have started valuing what it can do – lift, stretch and recover. Lastly, gratitude has allowed me to be more consistent. Consistency has allowed me to be thankful for the opportunity to move and grow, showing up to work out isn’t a chore but becomes more of a choice to better myself.

KCI: Can you share a recent moment that made you feel apart of the KCI Family

JF: I wouldn’t say it has been one moment. I have only been apart of KCI for about three months now and I would say that it has been the welcoming environment of the KCI Family. Regardless of what class you show up to, the community members are very welcoming and friendly. To someone that is new to CrossFit, just being in a class of people, at different levels of fitness, can be overwhelming. Community members will go out of their way to introduce themselves, motivate you and just be personable. This can be a rare thing sometimes.
